Bisly raises £4.3m to scale AI-powered building automation

Estonia-based Bisly, a building automation company, has raised £4.3m in new funding to accelerate its European expansion. The round was led by 2C Ventures with participation from Aconterra, Pinorena, Foxway founders, and SmartCap – Estonia’s state-backed VC fund supported by the EU’s NextGenerationEU recovery plan.

The new capital will support Bisly’s expansion into Central and Western Europe, with a new office set to open in Poland following recent moves into Germany and the UK. Already a market leader in the Baltics, Bisly technology was integrated into the majority of new apartments sold in Estonia in 2024.

Around 40% of the EU’s energy use comes from buildings, with roughly three-quarters still considered energy inefficient. Bisly’s AI-powered system addresses this challenge with a cloud-based platform that cuts overhead by up to 50% compared to legacy systems. Its patented digital twin technology maps each building and uses real-time data to optimise energy use and indoor environments across both new and existing properties.

“The climate crisis hasn’t paused – 2024 was yet again the hottest year on record. Our technology helps tackle the biggest source of energy consumption: buildings. Saving energy here doesn’t just help the environment, it frees up grid capacity for the next wave of demand, from AI data centres to EV deployment.”

The company has reported threefold revenue growth in 2024 and says it remains on track to repeat this trajectory in 2025. Its platform is already deployed across residential and commercial projects, with partners including Endover, Liven, Crown Estate, Bonava, Pro Kapital, Reterra, Hansab, Onninen and One-Gruppe.

“We’re proud to support Bisly in scaling their technology across Europe and beyond. Buildings account for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions and yet much of the sector remains underserved by digital innovation. Scalable, smart energy management is critical, and Bisly’s platform delivers that intelligence and efficiency to the built environment.”

Alongside new go-to-market efforts in Germany, the UK, and Poland, Bisly is also expanding its engineering team to develop a wireless product line for retrofitting existing buildings. Recruitment is underway for technical and sales roles across its core markets.

“We want to thank our customers whose feedback and push for high reliability and affordability helped shape a product that’s now enabling mass adoption of smart building automation across Europe.”
