Meter has announced its acquisition of WiredScore, the global certification for digital connectivity and smart technology in real estate.
Meter’s next phase of growth aims to ensure every business has access to fast, secure, and reliable internet. WiredScore became the global standard for connectivity and smart building certification, with over 1,000 landlords and developers spread across 42 countries.
WiredScore has certified more than one billion square feet of real estate worldwide. The ratings achieved by WiredScore became the benchmark that landlords, brokers, and tenants use to evaluate a building’s digital infrastructure.
“Digital infrastructure is now as fundamental to a building’s value as its physical construction. WiredScore has spent over a decade defining what great looks like in this space. Bringing their standards, relationships, and global reach together with our infrastructure gives us the platform to scale connectivity in real estate worldwide.”
Anil Varanasi, Co-founder and CEO, Meter
Meter provides internet infrastructure for enterprises and commercial buildings, delivering scalable connectivity across internet, Wi-Fi, and cellular. Its networking solution embeds connectivity directly into buildings, ensuring tenants have high performance infrastructure from the outset.
By bringing together Meter’s internet infrastructure platform and WiredScore’s globally recognised standards, the acquisition enables Meter to support landlords and occupiers at large while accelerating the international best practices in digital building performance.
“This partnership enables us to advance our mission at a greater scale Meter shares our conviction that internet connectivity is fundamental infrastructure. Together, we can continue investing in the standards, research, and global relationships that drive better digital performance across real estate portfolios. We are excited to formalise how WiredScore creates its standards through the formation of a governance council comprising active members of WiredScore’s already flourishing network of advisors. This approach enables us to continue shaping the future of technology in real estate with our most important industry partners by our side.”
William Newton, CEO, WiredScore
Meter has expanded into Europe, and a new London office, bringing direct access to WiredScore’s network of landlords and developers across the UK and globally. The increased demand for resilient digital infrastructure grows and building owners increasingly treat connectivity as a core building differentiator.
