NavLive recognised in Cemex Construction Startup Competition 2025

UK-based AI and 3D scanning specialist – NavLive – has been named among the global finalists in the Cemex Construction Startup Competition 2025, one of the construction sector’s most prestigious international innovation contests.

Following a £4m funding round earlier this year, the company will compete alongside 13 other finalists in the ‘Future of Construction’ category, which spotlights emerging technologies reshaping the built environment through automation, robotics, smart systems and industrialised construction.

NavLive will present its handheld 3D scanning device during the European Pitch Day on 18 November 2025 in Helsinki, Finland, at the RECOTECH conference. The event brings together innovators, investors, and industry leaders to explore the technologies advancing digital transformation across construction.

Developed by researchers in robotics at the University of Oxford, NavLive’s portable device enables rapid on-site 3D scanning and generates precise building models within minutes. By speeding up data collection and improving accuracy, the technology helps reduce project delays, minimise rework and support more sustainable construction practices.

“We are honoured to be a finalist for this year’s Cemex Construction Startup Competition and see it as an incredible milestone for NavLive. It recognises not only the progress we’ve made in bringing AI and real-time 3D scanning into construction, but also the industry’s demand for faster, more reliable building data. We’re excited to showcase our technology in Helsinki alongside a strong global cohort and to work with the competition’s partners on providing innovations that can truly transform the way our built environment is planned, delivered and maintained.”

Now in its eighth year, the Construction Startup Competition is organised by Cemex Ventures and global partners including Caterpillar, Ferrovial, Hilti, Leonard, NOVA by Saint-Gobain, Trimble, Dysruptek by Haskell and Zacua Ventures. The programme seeks to identify and accelerate solutions driving greater sustainability, efficiency and innovation across the construction industry.
